Please, introduce yourself briefly (What do you do now, what was the road leading there? What motivates you in your work? What do you think is the most important about you?)!
I have been the sales director of Lafarge Cement Hungary Ltd. for 4 years. I graduated at the marketing programme of the Faculty in 2003, and then I learnt the profession at international production companies. During my work I was always motivated by the chance to work with people and to find together the common field that is satisfying for both of us. I have always considered the development of the city and the county a mission. There is still a lot to do in this field.
What major stations would you mention in your life and work since you finished Pécsiközgáz (either in your profession or private life)?
I wanted to do marketing in the beginning, I was even a trainee, this is what the Faculty contacts allowed. Also with the help of the
What does success mean to you (either in your professional career or your private life)?
The result of our work is measured by numbers, which is quite an objective measure of success. What is more important than this, however, is to remain human, besides achieving the numbers. I have negotiated with quite a few interesting fellows in many parts of the world, and I still keep in touch with my very first business clients, though we no longer have common affairs. I got a lot from and I could give a lot to people, and this system seems to work. Perhaps this is the biggest success.
What did Pécsiközgáz give you (What are the values and experiences that you got from the Faculty? Why was (is) it worth attending the Faculty?)?
The most important was the opportunity to be among people at the same age and with similar interests for years, with people who wanted to learn, to get to know their own limits – even if it was not always the study material that was the subject of this will. In this environment we were given interesting pieces of information on what would be the processes and mechanisms in the board game whose rules we were only learning for years. The experiences gained at the Faculty still often come to my mind.
If Pécsiközgáz was a super hero, what do you think it would be like (What does he fight for? What is his main weapon, super capability? What does he look like, what does he wear, and what is his nickname? etc.)?
I think he is a pocket calculator on two legs, with a tie. He is a scientist-warrior who fights for giving the average people skills like free competition, the operation of the market, the interplay of demand and supply, the appreciation of the customer, or simply the right proportion of costs and revenues. His slogan is: “Buy cheap, sell expensive, folks!” His favourite saying: “Do not have too many irons in the fire!” His war slogan: “More micro (-economics …), less chemistry at schools!!” He keeps changing his name and clothing, keeping up with the super hero trends.
